DISCONTINUED: Astrological Research Methods, Volume 1: An ISAR Anthology, edited by Mark Pottenger
An ISAR Anthology
"This is the book astrology has needed. Some astrologers may join the research effort to try to 'prove' the validity of astrology to skeptics. I hope the book will be used in research that will 'improve' astrology. I agree with Dr. Glenn Perry that much of the scientific research on humans has involved trivial questions and answers. The new techniques being developed may prove more able to deal with human complexity. But even the simplistic, numerical studies of single factors can help us to discard some of astrology's simplistic traditions. Freud and Watson are not the only individuals who have denied any human capacity for self-determination. Too often, astrologers also put all the power in the past and in the environment, just adding the planets to parents and society. The Gauquelins performed a great service with their single-factor research which demonstrated that the twelfth house is not inherently negative. Join the effort to discover the great but as yet untapped potentials of human beings and of astrology." - Zipporah Dobyns, Ph.D.
