Description:
Written by Chris McRae, who was one of the world’s leading Mundane Astrologers before her sudden passing to the cloud, this fascinating book on the history of Great Conjunctions involving the outer planets throughout history is a work of great importance to all astrological historians. It is especially appropriate today because 2020 was such a year exhibiting Great Conjunctions. In fact, the grandest of all outer planet conjunctions – the Jupiter/Saturn synodic cycle – took place on December 21, 2020, so this book is timely. The insights that McRae provides on these rare but remarkable configurations will make this one of the most valuable additions to the field of Mundane Astrology.
This book is a much needed and timely contribution to the study of Mundane Astrology. Written by Chris McRae, one of the world’s leading professional astrologers over the course of the last five decades, her wisdom and insight gleaned from years of study and experience shine brilliantly in this well-written treatise.
As McRae writes in the first chapter, “Great Conjunctions are among the most powerful planetary patterns in the sky. When two superior or outer planets occupy the same degree, it is called a Great Conjunction.” Outer planets are usually considered those involving Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, but in this book, McRae will include Mars in special cases, such as social upheavals.
The review of all Great Conjunctions goes back many centuries. McRae analyzes their importance in the consideration of world events. Included is a list of dates for all Great Conjunctions from 1800 to 2100. Additionally, she provides insight on their correspondence to generational groups, as well as describing how individuals born with these conjunctions are part of the shifting world consciousness. It is part of their inner consciousness.
In all, this is a fascinating application of astrology into the deeper understanding of those rare periods when Great Conjunctions unfold, and their correspondence to the shifting times of humanity’s evolution.
